
Spec Out the Heat
We built this infrared wall heater around a 400V halogen tube—about 300mm long, pushing up to 2500W. The high voltage keeps the current manageable, so you don’t need thick wires or worry about voltage dropping off over distance. That means wiring it into your plant layout is simpler. No need to redesign the whole electrical run. And the footprint? Tight. It packs a ton of heat into a small space, right where you want it—on the wall or tucked inside a machine enclosure.
Material and Design
The tube sits inside a quartz envelope, filled with halogen and coated to focus the infrared output. That coating sends the energy forward, so you get less wasted heat to the sides. It also keeps nearby parts from getting blasted by stray warmth. Then there’s the R7s connector. It’s the standard fit, no fuss. When a tube finally burns out, you just swap it in. No custom mounting hardware. Just a quick, clean replacement.
Application and Real-World Trade-offs
This setup is made for industrial spot heating, process warming, and localized drying—places where speed matters. The halogen design fires up fast and holds steady. But here’s the trade-off: that much power in a small space needs real thermal management. Your machine or enclosure has to be ventilated—or actively cooled—to keep ambient temps under control. Think of it as a drop-in heat source, not a standalone fix.
