Technical Specifications and Heat Density
These lamps are engineered as drop-in replacements. We focus on the precise wattage and voltage match required by the SIG oven footprint to ensure the preform reaches the correct temperature without overshooting. High-density shortwave radiation is used here to penetrate the PET material rapidly. If you push the voltage too high to compensate for an old lamp, you risk burning out the filament prematurely.
Structural Reinforcement
Standard quartz tubes often crack under the rapid cycling of a high-speed blowing line. We use a reinforced quartz composition that handles thermal expansion better than generic alternatives. The electrodes are fused to prevent gas leakage, which is the primary cause of early lamp failure. You get a stable light output that doesn’t flicker or dip during the heating cycle.
Integration and Maintenance
These units fit directly into your existing sockets. No rewiring is needed. However, keep in mind that reinforced lamps often run hotter at the ends. You must check that your reflectors are clean and aligned. If your reflectors are pitted or oxidized, the heat bounces back into the lamp envelope instead of the preform. This creates a hot spot that can kill even the toughest reinforced tube. Keep the optics clean to get the full lifespan out of the replacement.
