We’ve all seen it—that stubborn mold that loves to hide in the corners of a damp bathroom. Standard heaters just warm the air, which often just pushes the moisture around. Our lamps take a different route. They hit the surfaces directly. When the walls and floors get warm, the water can’t settle into condensation. It just evaporates. It’s a bit like how a sidewalk dries faster in the sun than in the shade. You aren’t just heating the room; you’re actually drying out the surfaces.
The Nitty-Gritty
We use high-purity quartz for the glass. Why? Because it can handle the shock of going from cold to blazing hot without cracking. Plus, the filaments are tuned to cut right through moisture. And it’s fast. Really fast. You don’t have twenty minutes to wait for a room to warm up before you jump in the shower. You flip a switch, and the heat is there.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Now, these things put out a lot of heat at the source. If you mount them too low or cram them against the ceiling without enough breathing room, you might actually scorch your ceiling. Also, make sure your wiring is up to the task—there’s a bit of a power surge when they first kick on. One last thing: don’t throw away your exhaust fan. The lamp dries the surfaces, but the fan moves the wet air out of the house. You really need both. If you use the lamp in a room with zero airflow, the air just gets saturated with humidity, and you’re back to square one.
