So, here is how we handle it. We tune the infrared wavelength to actually match the PET polymer. Instead of the heat bouncing off or sticking to the outside, it sinks in deep. The secret is in the physics We use shortwave infrared (SWIR) emitters that pack a serious punch in terms of heat density. By tweaking the tungsten filament temperature and using a very specific kind of quartz, we shift the emission peak. What does that actually mean for you? It means the energy skips past the outer layer and hits the center of the preform. You end up with a thermal profile that’s consistent all the way through the wall. No guesswork. The gear These lamps are designed to be simple drop-in replacements for KRONES-style setups. We used heavy-duty quartz glass because these things take a beating with rapid thermal cycling. And since these machines run 24/7 in high-vibration environments, we used connectors that won’t shake loose or arc over when things get intense. But a word of caution: we’re pushing a lot of wattage into a tiny space to keep your line speeds up. That creates a massive amount of heat. You’ve got to make sure your oven’s airflow and cooling fans can keep up. If your cooling is weak, the ambient heat will just build up and overheat your preforms, no matter how great the lamps are.
